Medicine Information Seminar for students in Year 12 and their Parents/Guardians

MAKE THE RIGHT DECISION

Get real insight into the journey from HSC student to doctor

DO YOU WANT TO BE A DOCTOR? HOW DO YOU KNOW YOU’RE MAKING THE RIGHT DECISION?

Many students pursue a career based on inaccurate and unrealistic expectations and then find themselves switching courses or degrees midway through their studies.

It is for this reason that Chalkwall runs an annual informative Medicine Seminar. This Seminar has received an overwhelming response from students, teachers and parents from all over NSW.

The Medicine Information Seminar is designed to assist senior students in making an informed and accurate decision about choosing medicine as a career.

  • Which universities offer undergraduate medicine degrees and what are their selection criteria? What is UMAT?
  • What does UMAT have to do with studying medicine or dentistry? How do I succeed in UMAT?
  • What does it take to be a medical student and what is university life like?
  • What is it like being a day to day practicing doctor and what are the challenges?

All the questions you need to know before, during and after studying medicine will be addressed so you can ultimately decide: IS MEDICINE FOR ME?

All attendees will receive a Medicine Information Booklet which includes the different options of medicine entry, advice from doctors and students, UMAT information, a personal checklist to see if you would fit into the medical field and much more.
