At the beginning of 2016, I didn’t start the school year on the right foot. I didn’t feel like I was getting the support I needed from my ordinary school classes, so I enrolled in Chalkwall.
I received a completely different feel of education at Chalkwall when comparing it to school. What created such a unique atmosphere to that of school was that the community, the other fellow students around me and the teachers’ attitudes were so encouraging to someone like me.
At school, my classmates that surrounded me everyday were careless in their attitude toward studying. So you could imagine my surprise when I stepped into Chalkwall and found a completely different environment awaiting me. Everyone that studies at Chalkwall wants to learn for themselves – you can just see how enthusiastic all the students are to study. I saw this especially in the Hive, where students worked together almost like a team, to make sure help was provided for all and that work was being done.
The teachers that I’ve met at Chalkwall are extremely friendly and are always enthusiastic when interacting with their students. It’s clear they have a vision, focussed on making sure that their students are being assisted with any problems they have. With such an attitude possessed by teachers, it naturally influences students like me to want to keep learning.
Some students may think that tutoring is an added responsibility that needs to be handled on top of the pressure that school places on us, but I don’t feel like that’s the case at Chalkwall. The teachers that help you, and the Geniuses that lend a helping hand in the Hive, have helped me build my confidence and allowed me to feel like I can do better and want to be the best version of myself.
My goal in the future is to become a lawyer because I love the idea of an exciting career, arguing cases while still finding a reward with the work being done.
And with Chalkwall’s extra help, I know I can reach this goal.
